We’ve all tried it… SlimFast, Atkins, South Beach, smoothie diets, Sensa, Alli, Lean Cuisine, Special K…. all diets. All result in weight gain once you stray from the diet.
Diets don’t work.
Lifestyle changes do.
And you don’t have to turn your world upside down for the lifestyle change to work. Small changes are key. Change one thing a week… add on to it the following week. And another after that. And another. And another…
Start with something small, like drinking more water. Next week, try only having soda at dinner. The next week, no snacking outside of planned snacks. You get the point….
Portion control. I bought myself a nifty little lunch and dinner plate. It’s about the size of a salad plate and it does the trick. Food scales and measuring cups are fantastic weight loss tools. Much better than canned liquified meals.
Small changes lead to progress. Progress leads to weight loss. Weight loss leads to happiness. Happiness leads to more changes. Changes lead to progress……….
It’s a vicious cycle. But one that works.
